Dene Hellman (Emeritus)
I moved to Fletcher, from Charlotte, NC in 1994. My career included numerous aspects of writing and editing, including serving as the senior editor for the North American headquarters of Royal Insurance, a worldwide insurer based in London, England. I grew up in Iowa but proudly trace my North Carolina lineage to pre-Revolutionary War ancestors who had settled in Beaufort, NC. While living in Fletcher, I was an original founder of the Fletcher Arts and heritage Association (FAHA), acting as president for several years. Additionally, I founded the Fletcher Community Chorus with the help of many FAHA members. In 2010 I moved to Winston-Salem, NC where I currently live and write. I have four daughters and six grandsons.
